Get Ready To Fish Key West!
Greetings from Key West! Hello from Capt. Tony Murphy with Key Limey Charters. Thank you for your interest in my Key West Fishing Report and Fishing in Key West and the lower keys!
Fall is finally here and the weather should begin to cool down. This year’s’ very unusual heatwave will hopefully come to an end soon.
The weather has continued to play a big role in this fall fishing. We have had some heavy rain showers at times making it challenging to sight cast. Good news is we have a solid week of light winds and fewer showers ahead!
The Bonefish continue to be everywhere. Many captains still reporting large schools on the flats to the west of Key West.
Permit have been around too! Finding them tailed up on the flats this time of year feeding aggressively is the hope of any fly guy.
Luckily, getting shots at permit lately has been at a summer high. There has been a good number of reports of them to the north and west of Key West.
Juvenile Tarpon, Jacks and Redfish are all possible this time of year as well.
Offshore, the fall/winter bait has begun to move into our area. With the bait, comes the Tuna!!!!
Mix bags of Blackfin and Bonitas have been great targets this early fall. Chumming with live bait in 150-250 feet of water over wrecks and live bottom should keep your rod bent all day!
The yellow tail snapper have been plentiful as well just outside the reef around 75-100′ of water. Again, live bottom on the sounder is a must in deeper water.
With cooler waters as we get closer to winter, black and Gag grouper will also venture into shallower water looking for more food.Whatever your target species is, remember to always fish and boat safely!

Coolers with ice for your food and drinks are provided. All of the licenses, bait and Shimano fishing tackle are included with the charter.
Experienced Fly fisherman Welcome. All Orvis equipment supplied. Shimano Tackle is also available. Novices? No problem. I am an experienced guide. I will be glad to give you patient instructions.
