Greetings from Key West! Hello from Capt. Tony Murphy with Key Limey Charters. Thank you for your interest in my Key West Fishing Report and Fishing in Key West and the lower keys!
The summer weather pattern has arrived here in the Keys. This week the forecast is calling for winds from 3 to 17 mph. Monday is set to blow out of the south. Tuesday through Sunday the wind is forecast to blow in a southeasterly to easterly direction. The forecast is calling for mostly sunny all week, with the possibility of some scattered showers Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. The temperature is set to be in mid to upper 80’s all week.
The winds will be in the 3 to 17 mph range most of the week. Captains have been reporting some groups of larger Tarpon still hanging around, with some smaller fish mixed in with the right conditions. Bonefish have been a pleasant surprise with many fish being caught as the water temps are right in a good range. Look to find most Bones active on a tide change.
Permit have still been slow this time of year. There have been some permit around, but as always they can be picky and elusive. The large Cudas are out on the flats as the water temperature has started to fall. These guys are a great challenge on fly or light spin gear. Remember to get the fly moving fast to get their attention. They love live bait! Wishing everyone tight lines and fish boatside!

Offshore there have been a great variety of fish being caught. Snapper and grouper have been the normal culprits on the bottom.
The Key West fishing captains report that that there have been a mix of Wahoo, with some Kings, Barracudas, Bonita, Mahi’s, and some Blackfin Tuna have arrived. Sailfish have also been on the prowl.
